From our processing plants, we produce refined, bleached and deodorised palm oil (RBDPO). The RBDPO goes through the fractionation process where RBD palm olein (cooking oil) and RBD palm stearin are subsequently produced. With our biodiesel plant, we can also channel the RBDPO to produce palm based methyl ester also known as biodiesel.
The simulation showed that excess energy from the Refined, Bleached & Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) plant, which processes 5 tons of Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) equals to 82% of the required energy for producing 255.55 kg of ethanol.

Crystallization properties of palm oil by dry fractionation
The cloud point is related to the unsaturation of the samples; the more unsaturated the samples, the lower will be the cloud point. Fig. 1(a) shows that, after RBD palm oil, with an iodine value of 52 and a cloud point of 21.4 °C, was fractionated at 9 °C, the IV of the olein obtained (Ol9 °C) was 63.1 with a cloud point of 1.6 °C and the oil was in liquid form at room temperature.
The heating and cooling thermograms of the RBD palm stearin were characterized by a sharp, high-melting point (high-T) peak temperature and a short and wide low-melting point (low-T) peak temperature, indicating the presence of occluded olein. However, for RBD palm olein, there was only an exothermic low-T peak temperature.
